The TENUTA LA MERIDIANA wine estate is located south of Asti and not far from Alba, in the hills of Monferrato, the shrine of viticulture of Piedmont. The vineyards of the estate, stretching in a zone particularly favourable for the cultivation of Barbera variety, and almost all grown according to Guyot method, traditional of piedmont, were carefully chosen to be part of the estate thanks to their south-east, south and south-west exposure and the quality of the soil consisting of marl with clay and tufa layers.
From these parcels of land, with a skilful work in the vineyards and the thinning, the so-called « green harvest » in the month of July (reducing the yield by 20 to 50% depending on the selections) we obtain high quality grapes that undergo a further strict selection during the hand-harvest.
